A time to be alive.

Hi everyone! I hope you all are doing great and had an awesome thanksgiving day. My team and I are coming up on our last week here in Central Asia, and our days here have most certainly not gone by in vain.

So... what have we been up to?

Tourism!

We have had the opportunity to do some exploring here and it has made me so happy. We have seen some beautiful mountains, gone bungee jumping, explored canyons, and even seen snow. It has been awesome to ponder on Gods creation and his goodness in creating such a beautiful world for us to enjoy.

Ministry

Things can look a little different every week. But three times a week we go to a language center for english talking club. We make connections with local students, and then invite them out for coffee or dinner and wait for the Holy Spirit to start a spiritual/gospel conversation. Twice a week we visit a high school or a college, where we hold talking clubs in classrooms and do the same as we do at the language center. Once a week we do innitiative evangelism at a mall or park with the only goal being to share the gospel. One night a week we hold bible study at our house and invite students to come and hear more of who God is. Thanks to Gods grace and the Holy Spirit we have shared the gospel with 84 people so far! Praise the Lord for His goodness for He is moving here!

Fun Times!

From birthday parties to face masks, we have done it all. I am so grateful we have had the opportunity to just be kids and have fun. We organized a movie night for students and our house was packed. We had snacks, watched Harry Potter, played uno, and even had a dance party.

Prayer Requests.

Our team is preparing to transition to a completely different country, language, and ministry setting. Please pray that this transition is seamless and not too hard on us mentally, spiritually, or physically. Please pray that the students we leave behind only come to know God more through the help of Holy Spirit.

I have applied to three different colleges (Scripps College, Pepperdine University, and University of Central Florida). Pray that God opens the right doors and closes the wrong ones, and that He works in the hearts of admissions. My time overseas has really increased my want to go to school!

I have been stuggling to find a deep love for the journey that God is taking me through spiritually. Pray that God allows me to find joy and love in Him and nothing else.

Our teammate Precious is currently in Kenya doing ministry away from us as her visa to the US and Central Asia were denied. Pray that God works a miracle so that she can join us in Egypt!

Thank You all for making this possible.

Love and hugs, Alondra.

When I look at your heavens, the work of your fingers,

the moon and the stars, which you have set in place,

what is man that you are mindful of him,

and the son of man that you care for him?

Psalm 8:3-4

Thank you for sharing Alondra. I love that you are having fun adventures. I am also happy that God is doing so much in your life, even though it is not always comfortable. It is worth it!!! I love you and can't wait to give you a big hug soon! I am praying for your transition!
